CBD (Cannabidiol) is a chemical compound that comes from the hemp plant. There are at least 113 unique compounds found in hemp known as cannabinoids, of which, CBD is the second most abundant. Cannabinoids can be either consumed (phytocannabinoids) or produced naturally by the body (endocannabinoid). They are chemical compounds that interact with the body’s central regulatory system. This system is known to manage homeostasis and affect bodily processes such as appetite, mood, memory, sleep, immune system functions.
CBD is an example of a phytocannabinoid. Although our bodies can naturally produce their own endocannabinoids that bind to cannabinoid receptors in both the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system, phytocannabinoids are known to help to boost the function of our central regulatory system.

Although we can not diagnose or prescribe, we can tell you about common dosing and what is typically working for our customers.

Your ideal serving size depends on many factors including your size, weight, and other physiological considerations as well as the desired nutritional or other goals you are trying to achieve. Many people begin with a serving of 10 mg taken orally (swallowed or placed under the tongue for 60 seconds), one to three times a day. The serving size and frequency can be gradually increased or decreased, as desired, to achieve your goals. A common adult dose can range between 10-50 mg of extracted hemp oil per day.

Each drop in our 500 mg tincture contains approximately .5  mg CBD

1000 mg tincture – 1 mg per drop

1500 mg tincture – 2  mg per drop

2500 mg tincture – 3 mg per drop

No. The terpenes, flavonoids and other phytocompounds extracted from hemp plants do not contain the compound THC in sufficient quantities required to produce a high. The active phytonutrients and other compounds in hemp oil extracts provide many of the health and wellness benefits of the cannabis plant without the psychotropic effect (the high), allowing you to consume these products while maintaining a clear mind.

It is absolutely possible to fail a drug test when you are consuming Full Spectrum Hemp Extract. All of our products contain trace amounts of THC that can build up in your system over time and cause a failed drug test.

Moon Mother Hemp Company is proud to say that we grow all of our own hemp right here in Boulder, Colorado. Our hemp is USDA certified organic. We ensure product quality by overseeing each stage of growth and production from seed to sale.

All of our hemp oil tinctures, topicals and pet care products are made with CO2 extracted full spectrum hemp extract.
We do not use any petroleum based solvents.
Carbon dioxide within our natural atmospheric temperature and pressure rests in a gaseous state. CO2 must be frozen and compressed into a liquid and then further until it reaches its supercritical point. Under controlled circumstances, supercritical CO2 can be used to dissolve substances into “fractions” that can be removed.
There are several reasons why CO2 is particularly useful within botanical extractions, namely with cannabis:
CO2 is a naturally occurring compound. It exists all around us and our bodies produce it.
As far as non-polar solvents are concerned, CO2 is among the safest. In fact, the FDA has labelled CO2 safe for industrial extractions, making it a much less controversial solvent than petroleum based hydrocarbons such as butane or propane.
The conditions that allow CO2 to change from a fluid state to a supercritical state can occur without having to exceed temperatures above 90°F, meaning there is less risk of compromising the natural volatile compounds found in cannabis.
CO2 is also unique in that its solubility will change with pressure, allowing for fractioning of the many different types of biomolecules available in cannabis strains. CO2 extraction can be used to pull various cannabinoids from the plant such as THCA, CBD, CBG, CBC as well as terpenes and other compounds.
